    Project 50 Rules

The Project50 Challenge consists of 7 key rules designed to help individuals transform their lives and reach their full potential. These rules include: waking up at 5-5:30am, drinking water, washing the face and teeth, making coffee, getting dressed in workout clothes, writing in a gratitude journal, reading affirmations, practicing breathing exercises, and participating in a daily workout that includes step incline walking, Pilates reformer, yoga, running, or a combination of these. By following these 7 rules every day for 50 days, individuals can form new habits and routines that will help them achieve their goals and live a more fulfilling life.

The Project50 Challenge provides a roadmap for individuals to take control of their habits and start living their best lives. The 7 most important practices included in this challenge are…

    1. Wake up before 8 AM

Every day for 50 days, you need to wake up before 8 AM. Having said that, you must get at least 6 hours of sleep and maintain a consistent bed routine. Having a proper sleep cycle is a must. It is proven that waking up early puts an individual in a good mood throughout the day, keeps hunger at bay, and is overall needed for good health. It also gives you more time in the day to complete all your tasks.

    2. Do your morning routine: 1 hour With no distraction

Set yourself a proper morning routine that you’d like to follow for the next 50 days. Your morning routine can include activities like making your bed, drinking your morning coffee/tea, meditating, spending some time with your loved ones, or spending some time with yourselves to reflect, drinking adequate water, planning your day, and your errands, etc. Anything that keeps you away from your distractions will do.

    My Morning Routine

As a participant in the Project50 challenge, I start my mornings with a routine that sets the tone for a productive and fulfilling day. I wake up at 5-5:30 am and make my bed, feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day ahead. This early start time works for me because of many factors, I’m a morning person, I head to bed by 10:30 pm and it simply works for me. Don’t feel pressured to wake up this early; Find what works for you! But the key is to head to bed early the night before if you want to jumpstart on your day.

The first thing I do is drink a glass of water to hydrate my body and jumpstart my metabolism. I then proceed to wash my face and brush my teeth, feeling revitalized and energized. Next, I make myself a cup of coffee, which I savor as I plan out my day and set my intentions for the hours ahead. I then get into my workout clothes, feeling eager to get moving and get my heart rate up. I take a moment to write in my gratitude journal, listing all the things I am thankful for and setting the tone for a positive outlook for the day. I read an affirmation, reminding myself of my strengths and values, and then I do some deep breathing exercises to calm my mind and center myself. Finally, I am off to my workout, which generally consists of step incline walking on the treadmill, pilates reformer, yoga, running, or a combination of all of these. I feel invigorated and motivated after my workout, ready to tackle the day with energy and focus.

    3. Excercise for 1 hour

Physical activity is very important. Under this challenge, you need to work out for 1 hour daily, either you can choose to continue performing the same activity every day or you can choose to have any kind of physical activity done. You can choose from swimming, cycling, working out, yoga, playing any sport, etc. Make sure you do not miss a day. Performing any kind of physical activity every day not only keeps you fit physically but also keeps your mental health in check. The key is to keep your body moving for an hour each day.

I love using ClassPass to switch up my workouts. If you are new to creating a conisistent workout routine, ClassPass can be a valuable resource for those participating in the Project50 challenge. Its variety of fitness options, convenient scheduling, access to top studios and instructors, and tracking and accountability features can help participants stay motivated and achieve their fitness goals.

ClassPass offers a wide range of fitness classes and activities, from yoga and Pilates to dance, strength training, and more. This variety can help keep you engaged and motivated as they work towards completing the challenge. You can try new classes and activities that interest them and keep your workouts fresh and exciting.

    4. Read 10 pages a day

This challenge is to help you form a habit of reading. It can be anything- books, newspapers, articles, etc. When you read, your brain gets exercised and it helps expand your vocabulary. Reading also helps in reducing stress levels and prevents memory decline. Furthermore, it also aids in better sleep, and enhances your vocabulary and knowledge. It also increases your imagination and creativity, giving you a better understanding of how to improve yourself if it's a self-help book or if you're interested in history, it gives you a better understanding in that area. Besides, reading helps to relax and reduces stress. Moreover, it keeps you away from the distractions that are doing us no good.

These are some of my favorite self-development books I highly recommend:

    5. Dedicate 1 hour towards a new skill

To better yourself, you need to work on new skills continuously. It can be anything- painting, cooking, gardening, playing an instrument, dancing, or learning a new language. Learning new skills helps keep your brain active and ward off boredom. When you’re dedicating an hour towards acquiring a new skill, it also helps in building your confidence and self-esteem.

I’ve realized that due to our hectic schedule, we neglect the skills we're keen to learn about. Under Project 50 you have to give one hour to the skill you want to pursue. Learning a new skill undoubtedly adds to your knowledge. In addition, it also helps you to relax when you do something you love. It can be singing, painting, coding, designing, or anything you want to master.

For me, it's practicing my Spanish at a business level and practicing tennis. I also signed up for Kris Jenner On the Power of Personal Branding on MasterClass, and in hand with my tennis skills off the court, Serena Williams Teaches Tennis. If you have never tried MasterClass, it’s incredible! There are so many classes offered to up your skills in various areas. There were a few classes I wanted to take, like Dominique Crenn Teaches Modern Vegetarian Cooking, and Bill Nye Teaches Science and Problem-Solving.

MasterClass can be a bit pricy, and if you are looking to up your skills and save a little, Skillshare is great, too! I love that they offer a Free 30 day trial.

    6. Follow a healthy diet

We are so concerned about how we look, what we wear, etc., but we seem to be neglecting what we put into our body which eventually gets us healthy-looking skin, healthier hair, and so much more. Maintaining a healthy diet benefits us in areas such as keeping us fit, giving us healthy, glowing skin, and improving our mental and overall well-being. It is recommended to have no junk food, no alcohol, no added sugar, and no soda for these 50 days. For myself, I loved using TUSOL smoothies for when I was on the go or traveling,

Daily Harvest started as a smoothie delivery service, but since then, they’ve added many meal options like hearty bowls, flatbreads, soups, and breakfast items. I love that you can build your box with whatever items you want; they come frozen and can be used within three months. I placed an order for the largest box of 24 items, and it lasted me the entire 50 days. Keep in mind I didn’t use this as my only meal option; this was for the days I was limited on time. CURE Hydration

I try to drink at least 64 ounces of water daily and supplement my water intake with CURE Hydration when needed. I usually drink one packet of CURE Hydration in the morning and one in the afternoon. This helps me ensure I get enough water throughout the day without overthinking. I also like to keep a few packets of CURE Hydration on hand in case I feel dehydrated or run down. If I'm feeling particularly sluggish, I sometimes need a tall glass of water mixed with a CURE Hydration packet to perk me right up! Overall, adding CURE Hydration into my daily routine has been easy and has made a big difference in how I feel daily. Formulated with a blend of electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals, CURE Hydration is designed to support a healthy lifestyle.
