All of my childhood dreams have come true! 🤩💗✨This Pinkglow Pineapple from Del Monte is actually pink inside and tastes oh-so-delicious. And of course, to keep the Summer going, I made a smoothie featuring the Pinkglow Pineapple.

This pineapple smoothie is healthy, refreshing, and tastes like a tropical holiday! The most deliciously easy smoothie recipe is perfect for warmer weather or to keep the Summer vibe going year-round.

Pineapple is my favorite fruit to enjoy during the summertime. It has the best tropical flavor and is so juicy and delicious. This smoothie features this pinkglow pineapple from Del Monte, with a hint of coconut from the coconut milk.

Pink Pineapples?

When we first heard about cotton candy grapes, we thought the internet was pranking our candy-loving hearts. How could such a magical fruit exist? To our shock, they are very real—and we immediately set out to get our hands on a bushel. Now we're intrigued by yet another strange fruit: the pink pineapple.

While it's much lesser known than, say, purple potatoes and the aforementioned candy grapes, pink pineapples are real. So much so that they even have their patent under the fruit-producing giant Del Monte. (Because they've been genetically modified.)

In development since 2005, the fruit was only just given the FDA's seal of approval a few years back, NBC News reports. Currently, Del Monte is the only company to produce pink pineapples, growing them in Costa Rica.

Fittingly, they're known as the Pineglow Pineapple and are made rose-colored by adding lycopene, which gives tomatoes their ruby hue. What's more, Del Monte claims the fruit is made sweeter from this addition, proposing a new label that reads "extra sweet pink flesh pineapple." As being someone that got to give it a try before this pink pineapple has hit the produce section at markets, I can attest that it is much sweeter!
