    Reflections on Finding Your Self-Worth

Let’s explore the concept of self-worth and the importance of finding and nurturing it. We will delve into common misconceptions about self-worth, the impact of societal and cultural influences, and how individuals can work towards discovering and building a strong sense of self-worth. I aim to provide valuable insights and practical tips on how to find and maintain self-worth.

    “DO I LOOK PRETTY?'“

How many times have you asked yourself that question in some form or another?

    Does it define your self-worth?

As females, we've all been there, the moment when you feel and look good. There is something about confidence that makes you that much more attractive, radiating happiness. But there is a difference between confidence and arrogance.  I've come across some women that the only reason they care to be your "friend" is because of the mere vanity number attached to social media or because you're "pretty" enough to be their friend. The shallow compliments and conversations about the nonsense of materialistic things.

The cringe-worthy compliment of calling a stranger "babe" in what they might see as a term of sisterhood, yet they know absolutely nothing about you but the 10% of your curated self that you share on social media.

These things don't matter to me.  Beauty fades, and materialistic passions can easily be replaced. These things don't define me.

It makes me cringe and feel uncomfortable when I encounter these women. Yet, I don't judge them; I choose not to seek out friendships with them.

These aren't the type of women I wish to fill my life experiences with. It might seem rude or reckless, but it's not. It's a personal choice, a boundary, if you will, and a boundary about knowing my worth and whole self-worth.
    So what is pretty exactly?

It's a question I came across recently that made me think about what this means to me.  It's that feeling pretty goes beyond the external and the obvious. It's about knowing your value and that what uniquely makes you feel ravishing has to come from self-work, love, and appreciation of what aspects truly make you.

Through many life experiences, I discovered what makes me feel pretty all over again. It's an ongoing process but an invaluable one. Because every day, I wake up knowing my worth, and I'm so grateful that it's taken the form of a much larger conversation that I can share here with you on my blog and on here.

Have you ever taken the time to ask and answer the question: What truly, 100% makes me feel pretty? I challenge you to dig deeper than the superficial.

What is self-worth, and why is it important to embrace it fully

Self-worth is an individual's overall sense of personal value and dignity. It refers to an individual's beliefs about their abilities, qualities, and deservingness of respect and love. Self-worth is crucial to one's mental and emotional well-being, as it affects an individual's thoughts, behaviors, and overall life satisfaction.

It is important to embrace self-worth fully because having a positive sense of self-worth can lead to greater self-esteem, confidence, and resilience. When individuals feel good about themselves, they are more likely to pursue their goals and engage in healthy relationships with others. On the other hand, low self-worth can lead to negative self-talk, anxiety, and depression, among other mental health issues.

Thus, fully embracing self-worth means accepting and loving oneself for who they are without comparing oneself to others. It involves recognizing one's strengths, weaknesses, and unique qualities and valuing them as a person. Individuals can improve their well-being, form healthier relationships, and lead more fulfilling lives by embracing self-worth.

The power of self-worth in personal relationships, professional achievement, and overall happiness

Self-worth is critical in personal relationships, professional achievement, and overall happiness. Individuals with a strong sense of self-worth are more likely to attract healthy and fulfilling relationships because they have a better understanding of their own needs and boundaries and are less likely to tolerate mistreatment from others. A strong sense of self-worth can also lead to greater self-confidence, which can help individuals pursue their goals and achieve success in their careers.

Regarding overall happiness, self-worth is essential as it influences how individuals perceive themselves and their world. Individuals with a positive sense of self-worth are more likely to view themselves and their experiences positively, which can lead to greater life satisfaction and happiness.

On the other hand, low self-worth can have the opposite effect. Individuals with low self-worth may engage in toxic relationships or avoid relationships altogether, as they may feel unworthy of love and affection. They may also struggle to achieve their goals and find success in their careers due to a lack of confidence and self-doubt.

Therefore, embracing self-worth is crucial for leading a happy and fulfilling life, both personally and professionally. Individuals can form strong relationships, achieve their goals, and find happiness and contentment in themselves by valuing oneself.

I promise you will be wiser, stronger, more self-accepting, and truly the best version of yourself from the self-evolution of this year.

Tips and advice on building up self-worth

Practice self-compassion: Treat yourself with the kindness and understanding you would offer to a loved one. Speak to yourself positively, be supportive, and not be too hard on yourself when things go wrong.

Set boundaries: Learn to say no to people and situations that don't align with your values or make you uncomfortable. Setting boundaries helps to protect your time and energy and can help to boost your self-worth.

Prioritize self-care: Take care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. This can include activities such as exercise, meditation, or journaling.

Challenge negative thoughts: Recognize when you are engaging in negative self-talk and actively challenge it. Replace negative thoughts with positive affirmations or reframe them in a more realistic and positive light.

Surround yourself with positive people: Spend time with people who support and uplift you. Surrounding yourself with positive individuals can help to boost your self-worth and overall well-being.

Learn to forgive yourself: We all make mistakes, and it's important to forgive ourselves for past failures or regrets. Holding onto past mistakes can weigh down on your self-worth.

Set achievable goals: Setting and achieving goals can help to boost self-worth and self-esteem. Start with small goals that are easy to achieve, and work your way up to larger ones.

Practice gratitude: Take time to appreciate the good things in your life, and focus on what you have rather than what you don't.

Celebrate your accomplishments: Recognize and celebrate your successes, no matter how small they may seem. This can help to boost your self-worth and self-esteem.

Seek professional help: If you are struggling with low self-worth, it may be helpful to seek a therapist's or counselor's guidance. They can provide support and tools to work through any underlying issues and build a healthier sense of self-worth.
