Reflections on Self-Evolution

Do you believe in rebirth?

Have you ever felt like you're gently being nudged in the right direction from time to time? And even though all the resistance and hesitation in giving in to that moment - you look back and realize that it just all had to happen? And for an excellent reason?

I've had many nudges, pushes, and even shoves into the abyss called life. Mostly within these last three years. And, 2020 has, without a doubt, been one of the most challenging.

Through all the difficult, ugly, painful times, I've realized that I just needed to surrender and let go, and trust that--just like my favorite Steve Jobs quote...you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future--without any specific outcome of what may come next. But you have to trust yourself as well. This got me through it all... and everything always seems to work out at the end.

You don't know this new me; I've put back my pieces differently.

At 34, I feel like I've already lived a few lifetimes in this life... so many chapters have been opened and closed. One somehow leading to the next, a few steps forward and also a few steps back, but all glorious and a beautiful in their own right. Even with sweat, tears, and smiles, and moments where life is a beautiful mess.

When I look back at moments like this, it brings a lot of gratitude in my heart. It's also been a reminder that we are continually evolving.

A rebirth, if you will.

My latest rebirth has happened over the last three years, a transformation on so many levels that even surprises me as well. It's has been magical and incredibly challenging. I've managed to throw all my comfort zones out the window to become a better version of myself.

It's always a work in progress and never really a destination, enjoying the journey we call life for whatever it brings along the way.

Can you relate? Have you ever gone through a significant internal shift or transformation? What was it like for you? Share here.
