Basil Spinach Cucumber Pineapple Smoothie
I can't believe it has already been a week since first arriving in Tamarindo. We've been enjoying our time here thus far, tasting and savoring everything from culture, sun and food. The days have been hot - high 80's/low 90's. Gregg and I have been frequenting The Snow Shack, a smoothie shop on the main strip of town. Walking around in the heat, it was the best way to cool off and revive for the afternoon. The smoothies are made with purified water, milk or yogurt. I chose water so it wouldn't be so heavy. All smoothies are made to order. My favorite combination as been spinach, cucumber, basil and pineapple with a scoop of protein powder. You might look at this recipe and think these ingredients make an unlikely pairing but oh, it’s a delicious one! Step out of your comfort and try this combination the next time you’re making a green smoothie.
